Winter Flying
This sport can take your breath away...and so can the winter's cold. Put them together and it will leave you breathless... With face mask, thermals and 2 pairs of gloves, I took to the air. Despite the cold, it was some of the nicest flying I ever experienced.
Pulling the wing up was easy, as 10 mph winds did all the work.
Add power and up I went. By now my fingers were already cold...

The Connecticut River was just starting to freeze, as mini iceburgs were forming
A week later, it was almost frozen SOLID!
I captured my wife (the dot behind the trees) as I was flying overhead.
Needless to say, my feet were cold too!!
There was little warmth from this winter sun...
And guess what??? I just had to go again...
Out of the bosom of the air, Out of the cloudfolds of her garment shaken, Over the woodlands, brown and bare Over the harvest-fields forsaken, Silent, and soft, and slow Descends the snow. ~~By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.~~
